GAINESVILLE - Whether your Christmas tree comes down today or next week, Hall County's recycling program hopes you'll think of them when you get ready to discard it.
You can leave the trees at any of the county's trash compactor sites and the recycling center on Chestnut Street.
If you wait until Saturday, January 5, however, and taken them to the recycling center, and you are one of the first 1,700 to do so, you'll receive a free dogwood seedling.
The seedling give-away is part of the state's annual Bring One for the Chipper program. Wherever you are in Georgia, you should be able to recycle a tree for mulching and receive a seedling... although, like in Gainesville, quantities are limited.
