By The Associated Press
ATHENS, Ga. - Danielle Taylor scored a career-high 22 points to lead No. 7 Georgia to a 102-45 rout of in-state rival Mercer on Monday night.

Tasha Humphrey had 20 points for Georgia (10-0), but her string of double-doubles ended at six. Freshman Angela Puleo had a career-high 14 points, nine assists and four steals. Brittany Carter scored 13 points and Jaleesa Rhoden 11 to set career bests.

Georgia matched the 1985-86 team for the fifth-best start in school history.

LaToya Jackson scored a career-best 22 points, hitting five 3-pointers in the process, to lead Mercer (3-7). The Bears, missing leading scorer Gabrielle Essex, started the game with only eight players and played the last 9 minutes with no subs after two disqualifications and an injury reduced their available players to five.

Taylor's previous career best was 11 points against Savannah State in 2005. She scored seven points last season and had scored 10 so far this season.

Georgia took control early, capitalizing on its size advantage with 6-foot-5 Angel Robinson and 6-3 Humphrey scoring the team's first nine points. Puleo then started a barrage of 3-pointers, winding up with four of the Bulldogs' eight in the first half.

Georgia led 64-29 at the break.

The Bulldogs also played short-handed. Megan Darrah and reserves Christy Marshall and Rebecca Rowsey were unavailable because of injuries.
