The football coaches of Region 7-AAA selected their 2007 All Region Football Team on Wednesday.
After leading the North Hall Trojans to their first-ever berth in the Class AAA semifinals and an historic appearance at the Georgia Dome, Trojans coach Bob Christmas was chosen as the 2007 Coach of the Year.
Unsurprisingly, North Hall garnered the most players on the first team with 10. The Trojans finished the season 13-1 and won their third region crown in four years. A few North Hall players even earned double honors, including Colin Alford, who made first team offense as a tackle and second team defense as an end, and Seth Hewell, who was named as first team defensive tackle and second team offensive tackle.
Flowery Branch, which finished second in Region 7-AAA with a 9-2 record, placed the second-most number of players on the first team with six. Falcons quarterback Jaybo Shaw was named as the region's top signal-caller.
Gainesville, Chestatee and Lumpkin County each had three players on the first team, Johnson and White County 2 apiece and Gilmer one.
