Ligon Appointed Gainesville Planning Director

GAINESVILLE - Gainesville City Manager Bryan Shuler has announced the appointment of Rusty Ligon as Planning Director for the city.

Ligon, who joined the Planning Department in 2003 as Special Projects Manager in 2003, had been serving as Interim Director since May. In addition to conducting redevelopment plans and small area plans for several Georgia cities before moving to Gainesville, Ligon was the project manager for the Midtown Gainesville Redevelopment Plan.

A native of Jasper, Georgia, Ligon is a graduate of the University of Alabama with a degree in Regional and Urban Development.
