GAINESVILLE - Veterans Day observances in the Gainesville area will stretch over at least two days this year since the holiday falls on Sunday.
Dawsonville's annual observance gets underway at 3:00 Sunday with a parade. It will be followed at 4:00 by a ceremony.
Also Sunday, the Northeast Georgia History Center hosts a special open house --- with free admission for all veterans and their families from 1:00-4:00.
The annual downtown Gainesville ceremony, sponsored by the American Legion Post #7, will be held Monday at 11:00. But instead of Roosevelt Square, where it is usually held, it will take place this year inside... at the adjoining Georgia Mountains Center.
