A special weekend at NHHS

GAINESVILLE - North Hall High School is planning a big celebration this weekend: marking it's 50th anniversary.

It all begins tonight at the homecoming football game and continues for most of the day tomorrow, starting at 10 a.m.

The school was formed in 1957 with the consolidation of Riverbend, Clermont and Sardis schools. Two other new high schools were created at the same time through the consolidation of several schools... South Hall (now Johnson High) and East Hall. (See separate story).

Through the years, there have been ten principals at North Hall and 8,837 graduates, according to a resolution passed earlier this year by the Georgia General Assembly.

The student population is now about 1,700. There are 77 faculty members and 40 other staff members.
