School closings

UNDATED - A number of school systems in northeast Georgia have called off classes for today because of icy roads.

North Georgia Tech now says all three of its campuses are closed

Jackson County schools ARE OPEN. The Associated Press had reported erroneously earlier this morning that they were closed but reported at 7:45 that they are OPEN.

Lumpkin County: staff members are to report at 10:00.

Banks County: 12-month employees to report at 10:00.
