GAINESVILLE - A brake manufacturing plant plans to locate in Oakwood, creating 200 new jobs.
The announcement was made Thursday at a meeting of the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
The plant will be operated by TRW Automotive.
Michael Hiser, Group Engineering Manager, North America Braking, said the plant will be located in Oakwood South Industrial Park.
Hiser said, when fully operational, it is expected to produce 4 million brakes a year for leading automotive manufacturers. He said by year's end the plant will employ about 200 people.
