Buford City Schools to implement dress code

By by Ken Stanford
BUFORD - Beginning in the fall, a system wide dress code will be implemented for Buford schools.

All students, from kindergarten through 12th grade will be required to wear certain colors and styles of clothing to school.

The requirements are patterned after those that have been in place at Buford Middle School for a number of years, so no changes are in the works for middle schoolers.

According to the Buford City Schools Web site, the following are the "global parameters" for the dress code:

Pants (also permitted: shorts, skorts, skirts, and capris) K-5 Khaki Pants, Black Pants, or Blue Jeans 6-12 Khaki or Black Pants (Jeans/Camo days at principal's discretion) No Black on Black

Shirts (hemmed; solid in color or having a Buford insignia) Gold (any shade), Green (any shade), Grey, White or Black Shirts (Pink shirts with Buford insignia may be worn in grades K-5) Shirts should have a sleeve and crew neck or collar.

Undershirts are not a requirement. However, if undershirts are worn, grey, black or white are required.

No Black on Black

School Spirit Wear: School Spirit Wear in compliance with the dress code will be available in each school.

The dress code at Buford Middle School already meets these requirements; therefore, no changes in the dress code at Buford Middle School will be necessary.
