GAINESVILLE - A 16-year-old Hall County girl, still recovering from serious injuries suffered in a traffic accident in April, will be honored by the Atlanta Braves tonight.
According to a Web site set up to keep her friends informed of her recovery progress, Brittany Walters, a junior at Chestatee High School, remains hospitalized in Atlanta and faces a long-term period of recovery.
Walters, the daughter of Ron and Tina Walters, will be leaving the hospital around the end of this month if all goes well - but will still have to undergo therapy several times a week.
But, tonight she'll be on the mound at Turner Field tossing out the ceremonial first pitch as the Braves open a series with the Phillies.
