ATLANTA - There are fewer jobs in metro Gainesville than a month ago.
State Labor Department Commissioner Michael Thurmond says the area lost 700 jobs between June and July - a one percent decline.
Every metropolitan area in the state recorded a job loss for the period except Brunswick.
Meanwhile, the state unemployment rate is down a tenth of a percent to 5.1 percent.
County rates will be released next week.
