9/11 ceremony planned in Cumming

By by Ken Stanford
CUMMING - It's probably the first of a number that you'll be hearing about in the area - Forsyth County announcing plans for a ceremony to mark the fifth anniversary of 9/11.

Keep Forsyth County Beautiful will host the ceremony September 11 at the county's Liberty Garden which is located at the central park recreation center at 11:15.

It will include recognition of public safety employees - whose New York City counterparts lost scores of fellow workers when the World Trade Center towers collapsed.

The ceremony will also include vocal and dance performances by students from Forsyth Central High School.

The Forsyth County Central Park Recreation Center is located at 2300 Keith Bridge Road.

The Forsyth County Liberty Garden was developed in response to an appeal three years ago from Keep America Beautiful which asked that all of its affiliates create a monument garden called the Liberty Garden in memory and honor of those lost in the attacks.
