Telfair jailer fatally shot in bed with family unharmed, three men charged

<p>A Telfair County jailer was found early Friday fatally shot in bed with his wife and infant son who were not harmed, authorities said.</p><p>Investigators believe Roscoe Latrell Harris, 32, of McRae, was killed because he supplied information that led deputies to wanted man Lamont Armstrong, Telfair County sheriff Jimmie Williamson said.</p><p>Armstrong, 24, of McRae, was wanted on several charges including possession of cocaine and violation of probation. Armstrong, who was arrested on June 9, was related to Harris by marriage.</p><p>"He was doing what he needed to do in the line of duty to help us get a fugitive, and it resulted in his death," Williamson said.</p><p>Along with Armstrong, Keith Dubose, 21, of McRae, and Shenerica Clark, 19, of Albany, are charged with murder, according to the Telfair County Sheriff's office.</p><p>After Harris' death, Williamson said Armstrong communicated from jail that he wanted Harris dead.</p><p>Investigators are trying to determine whether money exchanged hands in the killing.
