CLEVELAND - The North Hall baseball team keeps finding ways to win.
Two days after rallying late to beat Flowery Branch with their bats, the Trojans' defense preserved a 5-3 win over White County Wednesday in Region 7-AAA action.
Leading 5-3 with one out in the bottom of the seventh and two White County runners on base, Brandon Garcia preserved the win inducing a fly ball to left for the second out and then watched as Josh Haymore threw out a Warriors' runner at the plate to end the game.
Zach Brewster (2-1) got the win for the Trojans going 5 1/3 innings allowing just three hits while walking five and striking out 10.
North Hall (9-5, 4-1 in region) trailed 3-2 heading into the sixth inning but got a two-RBI single from Brewster and then a run-scoring single from Joey Henshaw driving in Brewster to take the lead.
North Hall had chances early in the game loading the bases in the second, third, and fourth innings but only came away with two runs.
White County (6-8, 2-3) scored a run in the fourth and two in the fifth to take a 3-2 lead.
Terry Nash had two hits for North Hall. Garcia and Haymore also had hits for the Trojans.
