Tennessee trainer resigns to enter medical sales

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Tennessee&#39;s Keith Clements, the youngest head trainer in the Southeastern Conference, resigned Thursday to take a job in medical sales.<br> <br> Clements, 34, said he spent the past two months deliberating whether to stay at UT or make ``a complete change of career&#39;&#39; with an unidentified medical sales company in the Knoxville area.<br> <br> ``This new opportunity will allow me to use my educational background, business management experience and medical expertise to significantly enhance the quality of life for my wife and daughter and the customers and patients I serve,&#39;&#39; he said in a statement.<br> <br> The native of Arcadia, Calif., joined the Tennessee staff in 1997 from the University of La Verne while finishing his doctorate in sports medicine. He was promoted to head trainer in 2002.<br> <br> Clements coordinated all sports medicine for the football team and provided administrative oversight for all men&#39;s athletic programs.<br> <br> (Copyright 2006 by The Associated Press.
