Student athlete in Cobb County dies in traffic wreck

<p>A junior at Harrison High School in Cobb County has died after a traffic accident that also injured four of his fellow lacrosse players.</p><p>Luke Abbate died Tuesday at an Atlanta hospital following the accident at 7 p.m. Monday near Powder Springs.</p><p>The 15-year-old Abbate played on the school's varsity lacrosse team.</p><p>Police spokesman Corporal Dana Pierce says NO charges have been filed in the single-car accident. He says investigators are still working at the scene to reconstruct the crash.</p><p>Cobb County school spokesman Jay Dillon says students at the school will gather at 7:15 a.m. today to remember Abbate. The gathering is NOT open to the public.</p><p>Today's scheduled lacrosse game against Kennesaw Mountain has been canceled.</p>
