North Carolina teens arrested in theft of prescription drugs

<p>Police arrested two North Carolina teenagers Saturday after confiscating more than a hundred bottles of stolen prescription drugs from their hotel room.</p><p>Clay Scott, 19, of Waxhaw, N.C., and Clayton Maxwell, 17, of Mooresville, N.C., were in town with their parents for the Chick-fil-A Bowl when staff at the Ritz Carlton in Atlanta's Buckhead area noticed the two had an unusual amount of prescriptions in their room, said Officer Steven Coleman, an Atlanta police spokesman.</p><p>They were charged with possession of stolen prescription drugs and held in the Fulton County Jail, Coleman said. The 140 bottles of pain killers, muscle relaxants and other medications found in their room were stolen from a pharmacy in Monroe, N.C., Coleman said.</p><p>The pair will be taken back to North Carolina to face other charges there. Police are investigating whether the teens were trying to sell the drugs in Atlanta.</p>
