Judge Fuller to swear in senators

By by Joe Kelly
GAINESVILLE - Georgia state Senators will take their oaths of office in January with a little help from a Gainesville judge.

Hall County Chief Superior Court Judge C. Andrew Fuller was chosen to conduct the swearing in ceremony on the first day of the 2007 Legislative Session on January 8.

"This is, indeed, quite an honor to participate at this level with our State Senators," Judge Fuller said. "Of course I routinely swear members of the Bar to practice in the Superior Courts of the State of Georgia, now I will be given the opportunity to swear the Senators elect, that's a special honor also."

Judge Fuller is a Hall County native and has been a Superior Court Judge for the Northeastern Judicial Circuit since 1993.

Lt. Gov.-elect Casey Cagle said "I am excited that a fellow Hall County citizen has been given such a distinguished role."

Cagle, who was elected Lt. Governor Nov. 7, will be the presiding officer of the State Senate.
