Suspect killed after confrontation with Cobb County deputies

<p>A suspect who was wanted for shooting at a police officer was killed early Monday in a confrontation with deputies in east Cobb County.</p><p>The man, identified as Christopher Lee Conte, 24, was spotted around 3 a.m. at a barn behind a home, authorities said.</p><p>Officers had been searching for Conte since Saturday when they say he fired nine times at a police officer after a routine traffic stop and then fled into the woods. The officer was not injured.</p><p>Deputies attempting to serve a warrant spotted the suspect Monday morning. It was not immediately clear who did the shooting.</p><p>Cobb County Sheriff Neil Warren confirmed the suspect was dead.</p><p>The Cobb County Police Department is investigating the shooting.</p>
