ATLANTA - The state has settled on a contractor for 21 miles of work on Georgia 52 in Hall, Banks and Jackson counties.
Sloan Construction Company of Duncan, S.C., was the low bidder on the resurfacing, shoulder reconstruction and bridge maintenance on the road, starting in Clermont and extending to Brevard Street in Maysville.
Work is not expected to begin until the spring, according to Georgia Department of Transportation spokeswoman Teri Pope, with an estimated completion date of "Halloween 2007."
The work is expected to cost about $4.7 million.
