Georgia linebacker Dannel Ellerbe arrested on DUI charge

<p>UGA-LINEBACKER</p><p>ATHENS, Ga. (AP) _ University of Georgia linebacker Dannell Ellerbe has been arrested on a drunken-driving charge.</p><p>Ellerbe, 20, also was charged Thursday with underage possession of alcohol, theft by taking and giving false information to police, according to the Athens-Clarke County Sheriff's Department.</p><p>Ellerbe was booked into the jail system and released on $13,000 bond at 7:15 p.m. The arrest stemmed from a traffic accident.</p><p>His arrest is the latest in a series of alcohol-related problems at Georgia.</p><p>Antonio Sims, a freshman defensive back, was arrested earlier this season for driving under the influence. Coach Mark Richt suspended him for one game.</p><p>Former linebacker Derrick White also was arrested for DUI in the 2005 offseason. White had been disciplined earlier for a bar fight and was kicked off the team.</p><p>University spokesman Claude Felton says Richt is aware of Ellerbe's arrest and will deal with the situation when he returns from recruiting tonight.</p><p>___</p><p>HASH(0x1d03de0)</p>
