Five sentenced to prison for mental health agency fraud

<p>Former Atlanta Braves pitcher Rick Camp, ex-state Rep. Robin Williams and three others were sentenced to federal prison Thursday for consipiring to steal more than $2 million from an east Georgia mental health agency.</p><p>U.S. District Judge Dudley Bowen sentenced Williams to 10 years, while Camp, a former lobbyist, received a term of 37 months.</p><p>Also sentenced were C. Michael Brockman, former director of the center, six years; local pharmacist Duncan Fordham, four years and four months; and lobbyist Chad Long, grandson of former state House Speaker Tom Murphy, 33 months.</p><p>The five were convicted earlier this year of conspiring to siphon the money from the former Community Mental Health Center of East Central Georgia. Prosecutors said Brockman and Williams set up friends with jobs and lucrative, unearned contracts and in return received kickbacks.</p><p>The federal prosecution was a joint state-federal effort that began after The Augusta Chronicle's investigation detected wrongdoing at the Mental Health Center, where Brockman was once the executive director.</p><p>___</p><p>HASH(0x1cd9a9c)</p>
