North Hall couple collecting Katrina relief supplies

By by Ken Stanford
GAINESVILLE - A North Hall couple hopes to collect a tractor-trailer load of supplies for Gulf Coast hurricane victims next week.

Lynn and Raymond Huffman plan to start collecting any type of non-perishable items at CrossWalk Baptist Church on Highway 115 east of Cleveland on Monday.

"We have been praying about this and feel God is leading us to do this," Lynn Huffman said. "We will also take money donations. We are willing to go and buy the supplies ourselves. The fuel to have this delivered out there will run around $500. We are not rich people. We live weekly from pay check to pay check. But with God's help we will do this."

Lynn Huffman is Maintenance Support Manager at Riverside Military Academy in Gainesville. Her husband works at Kubota Manufacturing in Gainesville.
She says the trailer will be located behind the church and "we should have
everything ready to start excepting items on Labor Day."

"People can call us so we can make arrangements to be at the church.
Our home number is 770-983-0369. My cell number is 678-313-8927. If there is no answer please, please leave a name and number and I will call...back."
