ATLANTA (AP) Chris Owens threw for 226 yards and a touchdown and Florida A defense made a late goal line stop to help preserve a 12-7 victory over Tennessee State on Saturday.<br>

The Tigers (1-3) drove 84 yards on 13 plays, but a Steve St. Felix interception of a Richard Hartman pass at the 1-yard line with 11 seconds preserved the victory for the Rattlers (2-2).<br>

Playing on a neutral field in the Georgia Dome before a crowd of 56,297, Tennessee State took a 7-0 lead in the first quarter when Hartman hit Richard Gayle on a 62-yard scoring pass.<br>

After Wesley Taylor kicked a 23-yard field goal before halftime, Florida A claimed a 9-3 lead in the third on a 23-yard touchdown catch by Roosevelt Kiser from Owens. Then the Rattlers increased the lead on another Taylor field goal of 42 yards later in the quarter.<br>

Owens, who completed 19 of 30 passes, was sacked seven times but threw no interceptions. Kiser had seven catches for 76 yards.<br>

Hartman went 17-of-33 for 238 yards with one touchdown, but threw three interceptions in the loss. The Tigers committed five turnovers.<br>
