OAKWOOD - A tractor-trailer carrying a load of logs caused the closure of McEver Road near Mundy Mill Road in South Hall, the first of two wrecks involving logging trucks Monday.
DOT Spokeswoman Teri Pope says a logging truck lost its trailer and its load on McEver Road near Mundy Mill about 1:00 p.m., and authorities were concerned there may have been damage to the roadway, but there was not. She says when the tractor, trailer, and load were all removed from the roadway, authorities examined the asphalt, and there was no damage.
She says the road was closed for some time.
"McEver Road near the intersection with Mundy Mill Road was closed for about three hours from the time the accident occurred, until the time we were able to clean up," Pope says.
Pope says traffic was also tied up on Price Road later in the afternoon due to a similar wreck near Bark Camp Road.
