STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) Mississippi State offensive tackle James Redmond will miss three-to-six weeks because of disc damage in his back, coach Sylvester Croom said Thursday.<br>

Croom said Redmond, a 6-foot-7, 301-pound junior from Decatur, Ga., is expected to have back surgery Friday. He termed the surgery minimally invasive.<br>

Redmond was listed as the starter at left tackle, according to the most recent depth chart provided by team officials.<br>
