<p>The cast of the reality show Gilligan's Island might have its own stowaway _ in the form of a discredited professor.</p><p>Tiy-E Muhammad, who plays the "professor" on the TBS reality show, has called himself a psychologist on his Web site and in self-published books but is not licensed to practice psychology in Georgia or elsewhere. Muhammad also never earned a Ph.D. in psychology at the school from which he claims he graduated, records at Southern Illinois University show.</p><p>Now Muhammad, who is known as "The Love Doctor" on a local radio station, could face misdemeanor charges as Georgia law stipulates that claiming you're a psychologist without a license is illegal, said Georgia Secretary of State spokeswoman Kara Sinkule.</p><p>When pressed by a reporter about discrepancies in his credentials, he was dismissive. "That is not anybody's business," he said. He later dropped his description as a psychologist from his Web site and acknowledged he had not graduated from Southern Illinois, but rather earned a doctorate from an unaccredited online university he would not name.</p><p>Muhammad had taught as an associate professor for four years in the psychology department at Clark Atlanta University, but said he left in 2004 when the job became a "stale routine." The school said he left after they discovered his credentials were fake.</p><p>The charismatic 35-year-old was a frequent guest on the syndicated "Ricki Lake Show" and has been quoted in magazines as a psychologist and relationship expert.</p><p>Turner Broadcasting said Muhammad met the production company's criteria for a professor.</p><p>"They felt he was a good reality character," the company said in a brief statement.</p><p>The reality show, which airs Wednesdays on TBS, pits two teams of castaways against each other for a top prize of $250,000.</p><p>___</p><p>HASH(0x1cda20c)</p>
