United's 'accelerated' expansion plans in Hall taking shape

GAINESVILLE - United Community Bank is looking at north Gainesville, North Hall and South Hall as it accelerates plans to expand further into Hall County.

The banks's Gainesville Chairman Rich White said Wednesday Blairsville-based United has already bought a piece of property on Thompson Bridge Road where a branch is planned. He says a site in Clermont is under consideration and several sites are being looked at in South Hall.

White was one of several Gainesville Regions Bank officers and employees who jumped to United a month ago. Shortly after that, United announced plans to accelerate its expanion plans in the Gainesville area.
