ATLANTA - The Gainesville Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) is one of 46 travel entities in the state to share $750,000 in state matching co-op funds for the coming fiscal year.
In all, there are three northeast Georgia groups that will get some of the money.
The amount is $250,000 more than the usual half million dollars, and the highest amount ever since the co-op program was re-tooled four years ago.
CVB President Helen Fincher said Friday she applied for a $30,000 marketing grant under the program, but does not yet know how much money will be coming to Gainesville.
In our area, in addtion to the Gainesville-Hall County CVB, other agencies included in the appropriations are Northeast Georgia Mountains Travel Association and the Sautee and Nacoochee Valleys Association.
