GAINESVILLE - Gainesville planners next week will be asked to consider a rewrite of the city's Unified Land Development Code and revised Zoning Map.
Among other things, it recommends increasing residential lot sizes in the city to 20,000 square feet - while making allowances for what are called "by right" subdivisions with 10,000-square-foot lots, if they meet "standards for high quality."
The "special use" list is streamlined and the A-R and Select Commercial districts are deleted and reclassified.
The Gainesville Planning and Appeals Board is scheduled to consider the revisions Tuesday when it meets at 5:30 at the Georgia Mountains Center.
