CLEVELAND - Romeo Crennel has become the New England Patriots' former defensive coordinator. Crennel's agent tells The Associated Press that Crennel has accepted the Cleveland Browns' head coaching position.<br>

Agent Joe Linta says he received a phone call from Browns president John Collins about two minutes after the Patriots beat the Philadelphia Eagles 24-21 in Super Bowl 39 on Sunday. Linta will begin contract negotiations with the Browns on Monday. A deal could be announced as early as Tuesday.<br>

The Browns went 4-12 under Butch Davis and Terry Robiskie last season.
