Windshield damage forces Atlanta-bound flight to land in N.Y.

<p>A Delta-owned regional passenger airplane made an emergency landing in Rochester last night after its windshield cracked.</p><p>Comair flight 5701 was traveling from Burlington, Vt. to Atlanta when the problem developed. The plane landed at the Greater Rochester International Airport without incident. None of the 53 passengers on board or the crew were injured.</p><p>One passenger told Rochester's WHEC TV that travelers could see the damaged windshield through the open cockpit door as they were leaving the plane.</p><p>Among those on board was Vermont state Sen. Jim Condos.</p><p>Comair is a Kentucky-based subsidiary of Delta, which sent another plane to Rochester last night to take the passengers to Atlanta.</p><p>Comair officials said a team of its mechanics will inspect the damaged windshield and repair it before the plane is put back into service.</p>
