Girl killed when SUV crashes into Smyrna grocery store

<p>A 9-month-old girl who was sitting on a bench in front of a Cobb County grocery store was killed after an SUV jumped the curb and pushed her into the store's glass wall.</p><p>Jasmine Rodriguez's mother, 29-year-old Guadalupe Quintero of Douglasville, took the girl to Emory-Adventist Hospital, where she later died Friday. Quintero was treated for scratches.</p><p>Police said the driver, 26-year-old Edwin Chacon of Marietta, took off his shoes and ran from the scene after the crash shortly after 8 p.m. He was captured two miles away and told authorities that the brakes on his Ford Explorer had failed.</p><p>Chacon was charged with first-degree vehicular homicide and three lesser counts, including driving without a license. He was being held without bond in the Cobb County Jail</p>
