Two teens plead guilty in rape case, get five years

<p>Two of six teenagers charged with raping a 17-year-old girl during a New Year's Eve party have pleaded guilty to lesser charges.</p><p>Narada M. Williams and Ryan D. Barnwell, both 18, were sentenced to five years in prison after pleading guilty to charges of child molestation for engaging in sex acts with a 15-year-old girl and sexual battery for raping the 17-year-old.</p><p>The alleged incident happened during a party at a Douglasville hotel. A number of sex acts were recorded by a video camera one of the defendants brought.</p><p>Williams and Barnwell, along with co-defendants Cortez Robinson, Frankie Henry, Genarlow Wilson and Adrien L. Willis, were arrested on charges of rape and aggravated child molestation.</p><p>But prosecutor Eddie Barker said he offered them a chance to plead guilty to lesser charges and recommended a 15-year sentence with five years served in prison.</p><p>The 17-year-old victim and her mother agreed to reduce the rape charge to misdemeanor sexual battery, in part, to keep the girl from having to testify at six separate trials, Barker said.</p>
