<p>A Columbus gynecologist has been charged with raping a woman who was his patient.</p><p>Dr. Eric Buffong, 53, was arrested Tuesday at his office, Columbus police said.</p><p>The woman says she was raped in the doctor's office, police said. The alleged rape happened in June. It was initially reported to the State Board of Medical Examiners, who forwarded it to police.</p><p>Buffong is a 1977 graduate of Howard University and a 1984 graduate of Albert Einstein School of Medicine in New York. He practiced in Jacksonville, N.C., from May 1984 through April 1999. He has been licensed in Georgia since October 1998.</p><p>___</p><p>HASH(0x28681a0)</p>
