Doctor arrested in Costa Rica in child custody dispute

<p>A former Gwinnett County doctor has been arrested in Costa Rica on charges that he took his 5-year-old to live in the Central American country against the wishes of the boy's mother, the FBI said.</p><p>Steve Lazarus, an FBI spokesman in Atlanta, said Dr. Fayette A. Sims III, 56, of Lawrenceville was taken into custody Tuesday as he dropped off his son for child care.</p><p>Authorities say Sims took the child to Costa Rica 14 months ago. In December, a federal grand jury in Atlanta indicted Sims on a charge of international parental kidnapping.</p><p>Anna Sims, 29, met Fayette Sims through an online service matching women in her native Ukraine with men in the United States. She came here in April 1998 and gave birth nine months later. She and her husband named the boy Fayette A. Sims IV but gave him the nickname, Mula.</p><p>Anna Sims filed for divorce after her husband sold a share of the family business for $3 million and left for Costa Rica in April 2003 on what he said would be a brief vacation with their son.</p><p>___</p><p>HASH(0x28681d4)</p>
