Tennessee's Malnati leads 17-18 group in Future Masters

<p>Peter Malnati of Dandridge, Tenn., shot a 5-under-par 67 Friday for the second-round lead in the 17-18 age division of the Future Masters golf tournament.</p><p>Malnati, who entered the round tied for 11th place, finished with a 137 total at the Highland Oaks Golf Course. The final round of the 54-hole tournament will be played Saturday.</p><p>Mark Silvers of Savannah, Ga. finished two strokes behind Malnati Friday after shooting a 75 for second place.</p><p>Matt Fast of Hattiesburg, Miss., Ryan Blue of Bogart, Ga., Victor Billskoog of Miami and Nicklaus Newcomb of Benton, Ky., all tied for third with second-round totals of 140.</p><p>Hudson Swafford of Tallahassee, Fla., lead the 15-16 age group with a 4-under-par 64 at the Dothan Country Club.</p><p>Kyle Cobb of Tallahassee, Fla., finished second after shooting a 70 for a second-round total of 139.</p><p>Alabamians Bradley Johnson of Birmingham, Blake West of Montgomery, and Jacob Randall of Trussville all finished with a total 141 to share third place.</p>
