<p>A 23-year-old woman has been sentenced to life in prison for the murder of a man who was lured into a trap by neighbors, beaten, burned with gasoline and hauled off in the back of a pickup truck and left to die in the woods.</p><p>Lashundra Shenae Carr was convicted last week of taking part in the plot against Kareem Cowan, 20, who was killed in south DeKalb County in August 2003.</p><p>Carr was also sentenced to 10 years for concealing Cowan's death.</p><p>Her trial and guilty pleas by seven other defendants established that a small mob, including two of Carr's brothers and her boyfriend, lured their longtime neighbor out of his home with the intent of beating him and stripping him naked to humiliate him.</p><p>There was no testimony that Carr ever struck Cowan, but Assistant District Attorney Robert Statham described her as the ringleader of the attack. There was no clear motive, but authorities said the assault was fueled by anger that Cowan had warned his girlfriend not to associate with the others and an unverified claim that he threatened to harm Lashundra Carr's children.</p><p>___</p><p>HASH(0x28681f4)</p>
