<p>A Perry doctor has turned himself in to Houston County authorities to face murder charges.</p><p>A Houston County grand jury indicted Dr. Spurgeon Green earlier this month in the deaths of six people.</p><p>Green, who turned himself in Monday, is accused of prescribing pain medication to six people without a legitimate medical purpose, which led to their deaths. He had previously been charged in one of the six deaths in another county.</p><p>A bond hearing is scheduled for Thursday in Houston County Superior Court in Perry. Houston County District Attorney Kelly Burke said Monday he will oppose bond.</p><p>Green also faces a murder charge in Wayne County in the death of David Barbari. Green has been free on $250,000 bond in that case.</p><p>He is also accused of killing Elmer Lee Teal Jr., Belinda Kay Maya, Melissa Marl Allen, James Eugene Carr and Thomas Edward Bacigalupo.</p><p>Burke said he has not yet decided whether he will seek the death penalty.</p><p>___</p><p>HASH(0x2869924)</p>
