Boy struck and killed by moving van on eve of bar mitzvah

<p>A 13-year-old boy who was to celebrate his bar mitzvah this weekend died after a parked moving van rolled 40 feet and struck him.</p><p>Cobb County Police said the boy was standing with his uncle near the end of the family's driveway about noon Thursday when the van, parked at the top of a steep hill, started to roll. No one was in the truck at the time, police said.</p><p>The truck struck the boy, damaged a car, destroyed a brick mailbox and left tire tracks about 40 feet across a neighbor's lawn. No one else was injured.</p><p>Police did not identify the boy, but neighbors said he was Michael Zalkin.</p><p>Police arrested a man with the Two Men and a Truck moving company. Lajavier Timberson, 36, of Smyrna was charged with homicide by motor vehicle, reckless conduct and failure to secure a vehicle, police spokesman Cpl.
