DAHLONEGA - The first two White Siberian Tigers born in the state, were born right here in northeast Georgia.
Caretaker Kim Hunter says the tiger cubs were born at the Chestatee Wildlife Preserve last week to adult tigers Prima who is the 400 pound mother and the father, 600 pound Majestic.
"They weighed in at two and a half pounds and three pounds," Hunter said. "They are absolutely gorgeous."
She added the cubs make nine White Siberian Tigers at the preserve.
"We're proud to say that we own seven adults," She said. "They have a wonderful life and have the opportunity to educate children about the importance of wildlife."
The preserve is the only one in Georgia licensed to raise the tigers, there are less than 200 White Siberian Tigers in the world and the species is protected.
Hunter says the cubs have not been named yet and will be available for public viewing this weekend.
Hunter added the tigers will eventually be taken and shown in Hall and Lumpkin County schools.
