Neighborhood activist set to run for Hall commission

GAINESVILLE - A neighborhood actvist and officer in the county Republican Party has announced plans to run for a seat on the Hall County Commission.

Augie DeAugustinis is president of the United Neighborhood Advisory Council, a countywide homeowners association - and also serves as vice-chairman for finance for the Hall County Republican Party.

Commission chairman Gary Gibbs will kick off the event and introduce DeAugustinis to the gathering. The kickoff will be held Thursday night at 6:30 at Curt's Cafeteria in Oakwood.

DeAugustinis plans to seek the seat now held by Roger Cole.

Cole is completing his first term in office and has not said whether he will run for re-election.
