<p>Some slow-cookers earned by frequent shoppers at Harris Teeter supermarkets are defective and should be returned for a replacement.</p><p>The programmable HT Rancher cookers, made by Continuum Sales & Marketing of Great Neck, N.Y., shut off prematurely, Harris Teeter said Tuesday. The cookers are supposed to stay on for a preset time, then switch to a warm mode, but some are shutting off unexpectedly.</p><p>Harris Teeter spokeswoman Tara Stewart said the company doesnt know how many cookers are defective. She declined to reveal how many were distributed or returned, saying it would give competitors information about its shopper loyalty programs.</p><p>Stores are now stocked with cookers that work correctly, and customers should return defective ones for a replacement, Stewart said. Customers who have lost food because of the problem can get the food replaced, she said.</p><p>Based in Matthews, Harris Teeter operates 141 stores in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, Tennessee and Florida.</p><p>___</p><p>On the Net:</p><p>HASH(0x2868234)</p>
