Man receives life sentence in fatal shooting after wrestling bout

<p>A 21-year-old man has received a life sentence for the fatal shooting of another man who had gained the upper hand in a playful wrestling match in 2003.</p><p>Jason William Futch of Brunswick, was convicted by a Fulton County jury on Friday of felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony in the death of Michael Weaver of Macon.</p><p>Felony murder carries an automatic life sentence in prison.</p><p>Weaver and Futch had been wrestling in Futch's Buckhead apartment on Aug. 16, 2003. After Weaver got the upper hand in the match, Futch allegedly became angry and went for his 12-gauge shotgun, said Fulton County prosecutor Skukura Polk.</p><p>Weaver was shot as he hid in the bathroom of the apartment, police said.</p><p>___</p><p>HASH(0x2867610)</p>
