GAINESVILLE - It was a "slow go" at post offices in the Gainesville area Monday, which was expected to be the busiest day of the year for postal workers.
They were dealing with patrons who were mailing last-minute cards and gifts.
Traffic was backed up more than usual at the Green Street post office and lines were common at other outlets elsewhere in the city.
Postal service spokesman Michael Miles says it's likely to be that way all week - right through Christmas Eve.
