The Class AAA No. 2-ranked Johnson girls basketball team got off to a solid start Tuesday night beating Elbert County 65-36 in both teams' season opener.<br>

The Lakeview Academy girls also got off to a fast start, dropping Excel Christian 67-14.<br>

In other girls' games Tuesday night, Class AAA No. 2 Johnson defeated Elbert County 65-36; third-ranked Flowery Branch beat Jackson County 55-51; Chestatee defeated North Oconee 79-25; White County defeated Northview 61-47; and Pickens defeated Lumpkin County 64-41.
