Famed hairdresser pleads guilty to child molestation charge

<p>A famed hairdresser has pleaded guilty to molesting a teenage boy, Chatham County court officials said.</p><p>Joseph Pannal Moore, 49, will serve no prison time beyond the eight-year term hes currently serving for a separate molestation conviction in Muscogee County.</p><p>Moore told Superior Court Judge Michael Karpf on Friday that he sodomized the then-17-year-old youth multiple times between July 1996 and June 1997.</p><p>Karpf sentenced him to three years in prison to be served concurrently with the Muscogee child molestation conviction. It was part of a negotiated plea with the district attorneys office.</p><p>Moore was a member of the U.S. team for the 1986 world hairdressing competition in Verona, Italy. He gained international recognition in the 1980s after winning several hairdressing competitions.</p><p>Following Moores release from Rivers State Prison, he will have to complete a probationary term.</p><p>Information from: Savannah Morning News</p>
