ATHENS - Five seniors, including three return starters, and seven freshmen kick off Georgia's 2003-2004 men's basketball schedule under new coach Dennis Felton with a November 21st home game against Western Carolina.
Of the 27 games on the regular-season schedule, announced by Felton today, 16 will be at Stegeman Coliseum. That's the most home dates ever in the 40 years at the Bulldogs' home arena.
A 17th game will be played at Philips Arena in Atlanta, and the 2004 Southeastern Conference Tournament is scheduled for March 11th-14th at the Georgia Dome.
The Bulldogs will play their first regular-season game against backyard foe Clemson since 1964 in the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl Classic for Kids on December 13 in Atlanta. Georgia Tech plays host to St. Louis in the other matchup.
The Bulldogs will play host to the Yellow Jackets on January 3 before beginning its Southeastern Conference schedule four days later at Tennessee.
Last season, Georgia was 19-8, 11-5 in the SEC. The Bulldogs withdrew from postseason play amid allegations that assistant coach Jim Harrick Junior, son of the former head coach, paid some bills for a player and was teaching a sham class on coaching.
