Football: Area athletes turn in impressive Week 3 performances

Week 3 had some impressive performances around the area on Friday night. Below are the area's top performances.

Chestatee (beat West Hall 62-28)
RB Ben Plemons rushed for 106 yards on eight carries and two touchdowns
QB Gage Reese finished the night with 96 yards passing and a TD. 


Cherokee Bluff (lost to North Hall 43-31)
WR Dylan Haley had nine catches for 97 yards  
QB Cooper Dean was 22-of-27 passing for 295 yards and 2 TDs.
OL Grant McElroy had a 96% blocking average with five elite blocks.
WR Malcolm Millsap had four catches for 91 yards and 1 TD… 
WR Huddie Kemp had three catches for 44 yards and 1 TD 
K Jacoby Guiliano’s 45-yard field goal was a school record. He also was 4-for-4 on extra points and punted three times for a 38-yard.


Dawson County (lost to East Jackson 37-22)
QB Gunner Weaver was 16-of-33 for 322 yards passing and two TDs. 


East Forsyth (beat Winder-Barrow 21-14)
QB Chase Rhoads was 16-of-30 for 188 yards passing and 1 TD. 
RB Brooks Smallwood rushed 19 times for 102 yards and a TD. 


East Jackson (beat Dawson County 37-22)
RB Branturan Callahan rushed four times for 185 yards and two TDs. 
QB Drew Richardson has 102 yards on 22 rushes and a TD, and passed for 96 yards and a TD. 


Flowery Branch (beat Forsyth Central 38-7)
RB Griffin Harper rushed 18 times for 100 yards and two TDs. It was his second straight rushing performance with 100 yards or more. 
QB Brett Strum was 14-of-18 for 153 yards passing and three TDs. He also rushed 11 times for 51 yards. 


Gainesville (beat Westlake 42-14)
RB Nigel Newkick rushed 13 times for 143 yards and two TDs. It was his third straight 100-yard rushing game this season. 
WR Phillip Williams hauled in four passes for 90 yards and a score. 
QB Kharim Hughley was 14-of-17 for 201 yards and four TDs. He also rushed for 42 yards and one score. 


North Forsyth (lost to Lanier 26-17)
RB Darron Parry rushed 29 times for 118 yards. 


North Hall (beat Cherokee Bluff 43-31)
QB Alex Schlieman was 17-of-25 for 285 yards passing, three TDs and one interception. 
ATH Smith McGarvey finished the night with 124 total yards of offense, rushing for two TDs.
WR Ty Kemp had eight catches for 177 yards and 3 TDs


Jackson County (beat Dacula 30-26)
QB RJ Knapp III was 19-of-29 for 250 yards passing and one TD. 
RB Jayson Lee rushed 14 times for 119 yards and two TDs. 
Jefferson (beat Clarke Central
RB Max Brown rushed 12 times for 139 yards and two TDs


Lumpkin County (beat Hart County 19-14)
Nolan Matthews ran for 216 yards on 28 carries and two TDs, including an 85-yard scoring run that lifted the Indians to the win.
