KNOXVILLE, TENNESSEE - Forward Andre Patterson, who was dismissed from UCLA this spring for academic reasons, has enrolled at Tennessee, Volunteers coach Buzz Peterson announced Thursday.
Patterson, 6-foot-7, 197 pounds, averaged 7.5 points and a team-high 5.5 rebounds while starting 21 of his 24 games for the Bruins last season.
His 60.8 shooting percentage from the field led the team.
A native of Ft. Wayne, Ind., Patterson attended Concordia Lutheran High School for three years. He moved to Los Angeles his senior year, where he attended Washington Prep.

Patterson will have to sit out the 2003-04 season because of NCAA transfer rules. He will enter the 2004-05 season as a junior.
Patterson flunked out of school last year and attended Santa Monica College to improve his grades. He was readmitted at UCLA in December.
Peterson said previous experience with transfers Jemere Hendrix from Clemson and Scooter McFadgon from Memphis makes him hopeful Patterson will be in good standing academically.
``Coming out of high school he was one of the top recruits in the nation,'' Peterson said. ``The success that Jemere and Scooter had in the classroom while sitting out last year as transfers really encouraged us to take someone like Andre.''
